  • Overview

    The Worldwide Fistula Fund (WFF) seeks a dynamic individual to improve the lives of women in Africa in the position of Marketing Coordinator & Assistant. This position is located at WFF global headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. Worldwide Fistula Fund is managed by WJ Weiser & Associates, Inc. which is a NAYLOR company.

     

    The Worldwide Fistula Fund  is a global women’s health non-profit whose mission is to protect and restore the health and dignity of the world’s most vulnerable women by preventing and treating devastating childbirth injuries. WFF has increased fundraising revenue by nearly 70% over the past 4 years to support growing programs in 5 countries: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Kenya, Niger and Uganda. We are a national organization with supporters across the US and some international. Our diverse Board of Directors includes global experts in health/health systems, marketing, industry, higher education and more.

     

    The Marketing Coordinator & Assistant will report directly to the WFF Executive Director supporting all WFF marketing efforts and additionally completing some administrative tasks. This position has opportunity for career advancement within the role. 

    Responsibilities

    I. Marketing Support

          Overall: work with the Executive Director to develop annual marketing goals.

     

    A. Direct Mail & print

     

    • Appeal(s): copy, layout, name selection, production / mailing
    • Other marketing collateral such as brochures, annual reports, Save-the-dates, invitations, etc.
         

    B. Email 

    • E-newsletters and e-appeals; copy, layout, name selection
    • Survivor stories
    • Track email performance, analyze results

    C. Website

    • Support web strategy and redesign with unassigned tasks
    • Content, navigation and design input
    • Maintain site performance metrics tracking reports, analyze results

    D. Social Media

    • Support social media strategy and execution
    • Content
    • Maintain social media performance tracking reports, analyze results

    E. Public relations

    • Issue Press releases
    • Coordinate WFF speaking opportunities
    • Identify cross-promotion partnership opportunities
    • Manage media and other key contact lists

    F. Fundraising events

    • Planning, promotion, execution
    • Event collateral; program/raffle book, posters, etc.
    • After event marketing / acknowledgements
    • Volunteer management

    II. General Administrative Support for Executive Director, Board

     

    A. Meetings

    • Schedule onsite and teleconference Board meetings
    • Coordinate WFF Annual Meeting at WJ Weiser; travel & accommodations, meals and reservations, meeting book & handouts
    • Meeting Minutes

    B. Respond to day-to-day WFF inquiries via email, phone, social media

     

    C. Facilitate WFF payments for check requests & expense reimbursements, credit card authorizations, wire transfers

     

    D. Schedule/coordinate periodic international Travel for board and volunteers; Travel & Accommodations, volunteer release forms, travel & liability insurance

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications related field.

     

    1-3 years of Non-profit experience highly desired and preferred.

     

    Non-profit experience: Etapestry or other donor database, Constant Contact or other email marketing system, “cause” marketing communications and storytelling

    General: great organization and multi-tasking skills, clear communicator, excellent attention to detail and follow-up, strong desire to work for a “cause” non-profit

    Office experience: basic office equipment (copiers, fax machines, business phone systems, computers), proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
