  • Overview

    This position is responsible for the overall management of the Global Exchange services (appointment-based events) for Naylor, LLC, which includes overseeing sales and events management.  As such, it requires a broad understanding of the company’s operations, its client base, product lines, and services.


    The Director participates in the development and implementation of corporate strategic plans and company programs as well as evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action in his/her assigned area of the business.  The position also develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures to best achieve the company’s mission and vision statements, organizational goals and needs.

    1. Responsible for ensuring that the company achieves its overall targeted sales goals and profit margins on all shows and other work products. This includes setting and monitoring budgets, identifying revenue streams, developing and reviewing profit and loss statement, and other budgetary responsibilities.


    1. Assigns all work to appropriate teams and/or personnel, and advises and informs other teams within company of needed information. Coordinates work and communication, as needed, with other departments.


    1. Develops and oversees sales methods and strategies and incentive plans for the sales force. Works with human resources and accounting to review cost implications, feasibility, etc.


    1. Responsible for the overall coaching, motivating and retention of employees to meet event and corporate goals. Identifies and oversees training and coaching needs, and develops activities and programs to meet them. 


    1. Develop, maintain and refresh data bases for both buyers and vendors for all GEE events.


    1. Ensures positive client relations are maintained. Serves as Naylor’s representative in negotiating matters related to client satisfaction.


    Marketing, Research & New Media

    1. Uses the marketing and research team to provide timely and well-designed marketing materials to the sales teams. These can include media kits, association information studies, etc.  Targets some materials toward association clients and some to advertising.


    1. Continues to build the new media department, which provides tools and opportunities for new products to associations, the opportunity to reduce profit sharing expectations, and the opportunity to create new revenue sources for Naylor.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (Relevant experience may substitute for degree).
    • A minimum of five years event management and/or sales management experience.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills. 
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to people at all levels within the organization.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong mentorship skills, being able to share information and educate others.
    • Strong contract negotiation skills.
    • Ability to ensure business activities are coherent with Naylor’s code of conduct, Mission, Vision and operating values, and are handled in a professional manner with the highest degree of quality.
    • Demonstrated teamwork skills among various functions of the office and company to ensure the long-term success of the business.
    • Familiarity with common software products such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, etc. required.
