  • Overview

    This position is responsible for the day to day and month end general ledger functions which includes maintenance of Fixed Asset subledger, Balance Sheet Schedules, Payroll entries, recurring transactions, governmental reporting and supervision of staff accountants in performing their daily activities.

    Responsibilities

    Other duties may be assigned, as needed/necessary.

     

    1. Maintain, review, and posts journal entries to adjust various balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. (Prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and miscellaneous other accounts)
    1. Maintenance of Fixed Asset Software and records, including depreciation entries and continuity schedules.
    1. Prepares monthly accounting reconciliations and schedules for all Balance Sheet Accounts for all companies in the consolidated group, ensuring sub-ledgers balance.
    1. Reviews ongoing payroll journal entries and reconciles payroll balance sheet accounts monthly to ensure timely remittances and accuracy of deductions from employee pay.
    1. Review and assist accounts payable with coding enquiries or import issues relating to monthly visa purchase card transaction processing and SG&A expenses.
    1. Monthly review and analysis of overheads for all companies within the consolidated group.
    1. Complete annual and monthly governmental filings with the assistance of our registered agent.
    1. Responds to internal and external accounting enquiries.
    1. Assisting with various projects as assigned by the Controller or Assistant Controllers.
    1. Ensure that business activities are conducted within the Naylor code of conduct and in a professional manner with the highest degree of quality.
    1. Promote teamwork among the various functions of the office and the company to ensure long-term success of the business.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
    • Two to four years of related work experience.
    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Accounting programs.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with a high level of difficulty.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands.
    • Attention to detail, good analytical skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
