  • Overview

    The Vice President of Content will have two main areas of focus.  First, it will oversee the Content staff and services; second, serve as a liaison between Content and other Member Communications departments, primarily Production and Sales.

    In keeping with the above, it is essential that the Content VP and the Content team have a customer service focus, understanding the importance of Naylor’s association, advertiser and relationships with other Naylor Solutions and internal departments. 

     

    The Content VP should also demonstrate an ability to understand and articulate customer and company goals, develop/maintain important internal and external relationships, participate and/or lead ongoing efforts to improve Content team processes and content quality, adherence to deadlines and other best practices.  Finally, the VP of Content should serve as the primary voice of the Content team to Naylor senior management.

     

    CONTENT DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT
    Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the Content department personnel, services and performance;.

    • Oversees the management structure and the efficient and effective deployment of Content team members
    • Develops and continually refines Content team member performance standards and benchmarks
    • Ensures Content department output complies with Production and related deadlines;
    • Works with MC Leadership and GP’s to control MC project costs and maximize Project revenue
    • Continually seeks to improve the tools used by the Content team as well as find ways to improve Naylor product and service quality. This includes developing expertise in content development and delivery tools that can be utilized to improve Naylor products, processes and efficiency
    • Serves as a liaison between Content, Production, Sales, Business Development, Corporate Marketing, etc., to resolve problems and capitalize on opportunities
    • Develops and maintains a full understanding of each of Naylor’s four Solution Groups, Corporate goals and objectives; has working relationships with Naylor Solution and Department leadership

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
    • Five years’ relevant content leadership, print and digital content delivery, exposure to or direct involvement in B2B media and/or associations
    • Demonstrated leadership skills. Able to see the “big-picture,” while being well versed in the specifics of the editorial and administrative systems.
    • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work well independently while contributing as a team member of the senior management team.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to relate to people at all levels within the organization.
    • Strong mentorship skills, being able to share information and educate others.
    • Ability to ensure business activities are conducted with the Naylor code of conduct and in a professional manner with the highest degree of quality.
    • Demonstrated teamwork skills among various functions and company to ensure the long-term success of the business.
    • Proficient in software such as MS Word, Excel, etc. and familiar with Naylor’s MIS and CRM tools
