Overview

This position is responsible for managing the people, processes, budget and technology related to training, employee development and, organizational development  programs for the Company.

 

The training responsibility includes the development and implementation of Company training and development programs and systems, including New Employee Orientation, Sales Training, On-going Sales Training, various Departmental Training programs, Management & Leadership Development, and for the selection, implementation and on-going management of Naylor’s Learning Management System. 

 

The employee development responsibility includes working with management and leadership to identify needs and guide in the development and implementation of coaching, mentoring, performance development and succession planning programs.

 

The position plays a key role in working with Department Management to ascertain the training and development needs for each department, and to develop strategies and methods to accomplish those training or developmental needs.

 

The organizational development responsibility involves partnering with leadership and key stakeholders in various change initiatives and implementations of varying scope, size and duration.  Initiatives may include, but are not limited to, organizational changes, restructurings, new policy/program implementations and new technology implementations.

Responsibilities

 

 

Training & Development (ED & OD)

 

  1. Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of training and development programs and systems designed to help the company reach its growth and performance goals. This will include the actual design/ development of training programs, materials, training design plans, etc.

 

  1. Conduct needs analysis throughout various departments/functions within the company to identify training, employee development or organizational development interventions/solutions.

 

  1. Partner with Department Heads and Managers to determine training & development needs and priorities, develop training/development strategies and program designs, and materials development.

 

  1. Management, administration and delivery of Naylor’s leadership development program(s) and Harrison Assessment review sessions.

 

  1. Manage the on-going development and maintenance of the Company’s Learning Management System (LMS).

 

  1. Conduct various training activities, as required. Gain expertise at presenting Naylor’s various training programs. Conduct initial training and advanced training programs.

 

  1. Carries out agreed upon training and development strategies, monitors results and makes adjustments as needed. Track, analyze and report training program results to ensure objectives are achieved.

 

  1. Monitor and coach the Sales Training team, to ensure consistency and quality relative to conducting, up-dating and maintaining all Sales Training activities. Assist sales/branch management in the development, evaluation, and monitoring of new sales personnel.

 

  1. Ensure the maintenance, storage, proper access and quality of all training materials. Maintain training records for all training programs conducted on site.

 

  1. Prepare, and/or direct other resources in the preparation of all training materials for training sessions. These can include chart pad materials, Power Point presentations, Learner materials, videos, etc.

 

  1. Operate from an Organizational Development perspective to constantly look for ways to support management and further the organizational effectiveness of the company.

 

  1. Partner with leadership and management to consult on organizational change initiatives, including design, development, implementation and evaluation stages.

 

  1. Partner with internal IT department staff, and external technology vendors, to develop documentation, review technology and process usability, provide recommendations, and develop and design implementation training programs for new internally-facing, externally-facing or upgraded software systems.

 

 

 

Leadership

 

  1. Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, oversight, guidance, and support to training staff to ensure optimum performance and goal achievement. 

 

  1. Manage departmental budgets.

 

  1. Vendor selection and management, including managing outsourced/third-party vendors, freelancers and/or contractors..

 

 

General

 

  1. Ensure that all business activities are conducted within the Naylor code of conduct and in a professional manner with the highest degree of quality.

 

  1. Help to promote collaboration and a sense of cooperation among the various functions of the branches and the company to ensure the long-term success of the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Training & Development, Human Resource Development, Instructional Design, Leadership Development, Adult Learning, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business or related areas.
  • 3 or more years of active, progressive Training & Development experience including instructional design, creation and execution of development programs and activities, and facilitating programs.
  • 3 or more years of hands-on training experience.
  • Organizational Development experience, preferably in a private sector business environment, working with department management to assess organizational effectiveness and develop methodologies to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Strong demonstrated "stand-up" "Presentation and Facilitation" Skills
  • Strong demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in content authoring tools including Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, and InDesign experience preferred (or other similar technologies).
  • Strong proficiency in learning and adapting to new technologies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of written communication skills, including writing, proofreading and editing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in collaborating, partnering and serving internal business leaders to support the organizations strategies and goals.
